Alfresco Solutions, who brought us the Big Green Egg are getting good at finding outdoor cooking solutions that get people talking. The Dutch-made Ofyr grills, launched in 2016 in the UK, available in two sizes, medium or large, have set out to redefine the old-fashioned UK barbecue. What's more they're adding a touch of class to the proceedings and offer a practical solution that makes cooking for large numbers of people simple and low maintenance. Music to your ears?
The Ofyr grill immediately becomes the focal point for any outdoor parties. The design of these grills lend themselves to socialising and draw people in with their warmth.
So what's it made of? The plate is scorched black steel, whilst the cone and base are made of Corton steel. When you pick up your Ofyr you will notice it is rusty - this is intentional - they are weathered before sale to ensure they are resistant to all conditions. You can cook on them all year round.
They suggest you use a good seasoned wood like birch, oak or larch to achieve temperatures of up to 300C, or charcoal if your log supply has run dry.
